Free Thursdays Feature Films, Art Museum Admission - Ten foreign films, five comedies bring unique programming to Palm Springs

The Joshua Tree-based rock group will play headliner to the inaugural AMFM Fest, an arts, music, documentary movie event set to run June 13-16 in Cathedral City. In addition, Gram Rabbit will play to the hometown audience at the Joshua Tree Gay Pride Festival on June 15.

Nine fathers will be presented with a 2013 Fatherhood Pioneer Award. Awards will be given to fathers and father figures who have made extraordinary contributions within the desert community.

Joshua Tree Gay Pride Festival Celebrates Progress
Interestingly, this year’s fifth annual Pride Festival on June 15, which carries the theme “A Celebration for Progress”, comes as the U.S. Supreme Court is about to rule on the validity of Proposition 8. The decision could come this week. Admission is free with a $5 suggested donation. Patrons are encouraged to wear the color red in support of the Human Rights Campaign for Marriage Equality.
